ROW TO GROW is an indoor rowing relay marathon that will take place on Saturday 30th of November starting 8am at Gravity Indoor Skydiving. The event is organized by Gravity Indoor Skydiving in collaboration with CrossFit Delmon and is a fundraiser to raise money for Bahrain Mobility International. 100% of the funds raised through event participation and donations will go towards the cause.

ROW TO GROW is an open category event, hence, participation for both males and females from the ages of 14 years old onwards is accepted and teams can be formed of mixed genders and ages. A total of 60 teams of 6 individuals per team will be formed and participation will take place over 3 separate heats at different times throughout the day.

Everyone is welcome to participate, spectate and cheer the teams on! We hope to see you there.

Participating teams will pay a min participation fee of BD 60 per team, and every team member will receive a gift pack containing:

If you have never experienced a relay rowing event, you need to know that you’re in for a lot of fun! Get your mind set for this challenge with your team with these pointers below to make the most out of this experience:

  1. Teams are required to arrive 45 minutes before the start of their heat to register, warm up and attend the briefing.
  1. Each team will be consisted of a maximum of 6 people. You can choose to have less members, but that will mean MORE ROWING!
  1. Each team will aim to row a distance of 42.2 KM collectively on one single rower.
  1. Members can choose to distribute the distance and changeover between members however they see fit, however, each member must row a minimum of 300m before changing over to the next person.
  1. Foot straps must be used to hold competitor’s feet in the foot stretcher. No assistance can be used from others to hold the rowers’ feet in place while rowing. However assistance from team members to tighten or release the straps will be accepted.
  1. Only the rower seated on the rowing machine can pull the handle. No assistance will be accepted for pulling the handle.
  1. If faced with a situation where the team member is dislocated from his/her seat while rowing, other members can assist to help them back on.
  1. Resistance setting must be set before the race begins.
  1. For the safety and comfort of the rowers, only 4 members can be around the machine at a time. The current rower, the rower next in line and 2 members besides one side of the rower for support. The remaining members will be asked to stay clear of the machine until it is time for them to make the changeover.

CrossFit Delmon

CrossFit Delmon is Bahrain’s first CrossFit Affiliate providing a strength and conditioning program based on constantly varied, functional movements executed at high intensity.

The beauty of CrossFit is that all workouts and movements are universally scalable which means that anyone can workout regardless of current ability.

What is truly unique about CrossFit Delmon is that unlike other gyms or fitness programs who claim to make you “fitter”, Crossfit Delmon doesn’t throw around the word “Fit” lightly. They clearly define fitness and very specifically measure it, ensuring progress, increased General Physical Preparedness (“GPP”), and ultimately being ready for the unknown and unknowable. Bahrain Mobility International is a social, general and non-profit making centre located in Isa Town and run entirely on charitable donations. The centre was established in 1979, and it provides social rehabilitation and services to the disabled in Bahrain. Its objectives include the integration of the disabled and physically challenged within the local and international community in areas of education, social affairs and sports. The Bahrain Mobility International centre’s mission is to remove psychological and natural barriers for both disabled men and women by creating opportunities, allowing them to fully integrate into society.

The organization is chaired by Mr. Adel Sultan Al Mutawa.
